Yongin Korean Folk Village is located in Gyeonggi-do Province. In addition to bringing you back to the late Joseon period, this village also introduces you to the traditional Korean culture in a unique way.
For this reason, it is a popular filming location for a number of Korean dramas.
In contrast with a typical museum, you can firstly see traditional Korean ancient architecture. For example a farming village, private houses, and even more.
Then, secondly, you can also enjoy watching some traditional performances. For instance, Nongak (farmer’s music), martial art on horseback, traditional wedding ceremony, and other shows are available.
Thirdly, you can taste some traditional Korean food and more particularly, some traditional rice cake.
Nam June Paik Art Center is located in Yongin City. The art center opened in 2008 and hosts both permanent and temporary exhibitions.
The art center was named after Nam June Paik, a Korean American artist (July 20, 1932 – January 29, 2006). This artist is considered as the founder of video art.
Moreover, 67 collections of the artist’s work are being displayed in the museum. Including not only, the “Video Fish” (a television looping a recording of a fish in a fishbowl), but also “Garden” (a television that flips from one channel showing gardens to another).
Above all, this museum is the perfect place to enter Nam June Paik’s world.
