Explore Damyang’s Bamboo Forest!
Walk along one of Korea’s most beautiful paths.
Metasequoia trees were planted along the street in the early 1970s. At that time, the saplings were only 3 to 4 years old and their branches stretched sparsely out into the sky; now, the trees have grown so high that they seem to block out the sun.
Visit a private garden from the Joseon Period where the beauty of traditional Korea is preserved.
This is Korea’s largest and most beautiful green tea plantation.
Japanese colonialists planted the first green tea trees in 1937. The plantation was deserted after the end of World War II. Then it was reestablished in the 1950’s by Jang Young-seob a Korean entrepreneur.
Presently, the tea fields boast approximately 5.8 million plants which are harvested to make yubi-cha. This tea is considered to be Korea’s best variety, thanks to its superb taste and aroma.
