Singapore Botanic Garden (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Founded in 1859, the Singapore Botanic Gardens is the oldest garden in the country, and showcases the best and most spectacular of tropical flora set in stunning verdant landscape. On 4 July 2015, the Gardens received inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Jurong Bird Park
With its 20.2 hectares, this is the largest new park in Asia. It houses more than 600 species of South Asian birds in total.
The park hosts the Singapore’s national icon, the mythical Merlion with the head of a lion and the body of a fish.
Spouting water from its mouth, the Merlion statue is 8.6 meters heigh and weighs 70 tonnes.
This statue is a ‘must-see landmark’ for tourists visiting Singapore.
Gardens by the Bay
The 101-hectare garden is located right by the water in Marina Bay. Two huge futuristic structures rise out of the greenery at Gardens by the Bay, which was designed with environmental sustainability in mind.
